UPDATE: BT Redcare announces continuity collaboration

BT Redcare has announced a collaboration with AddSecure, a European provider of secure IoT connectivity, end-to-end solutions and alarm signalling, to maintain its ‘Next Generation’ fire and security alarm signalling services in the UK.

BT announced the closure of its Redcare operations in August 2025 as part of a strategic decision to concentrate on its core products and services.

The collaboration between BT Redcare and AddSecure aims to ensure continuity of service. Both companies said they will focus on transitioning customers from older alarm systems to modern digital platforms, providing support throughout the process.

David Reynolds, Head of Risk Engineering & Surveys at RiskSTOP, commented, “Following on from our previous communication that all Redcare products would cease to be available from 2025, we welcome this announcement.

“While the old legacy Redcare Classic will still be closing, AddSecure will ‘take on the responsibility of managing customer relationships with alarm receiving centres currently using BT Redcare’s Next Generation portfolio of alarm signalling devices’ meaning the new legacy devices will not require replacing and will continue to be sold. This is seen as a positive step, as it will help limit the number of customers who would have needed to replace their current signalling mediums.”

Simon Warner, Director of UK Portfolio Businesses, BT, said: “We are pleased to have secured this agreement with AddSecure, so UK alarm installers can continue to benefit from next-generation technology, alarm equipment and services even after BT Redcare closes in August 2025. We are now focused on supporting our existing customers to ensure a smooth transition.”
